Othello and Desdemona loved each other blindly. But Iago tried to break their relationship. Iago wanted to take revenge against both Othello and Cassio whom Othello promoted to the rank of a lieutenant. He had been able to convince Othello that his wife was unfaithful and had a secret relation with Cassio. Othello fell prey to this conspiracy and in a rage killed Desdemona by suffocating her. But just after the murder he came to know from Cassio that Desdemona was innocent. Othello realised that he had lost his love for ever and out of repentance he killed himself.
